Back in the 90s, like many early adopters, I had a personal website. It had various writings, creative works, links to sites I liked, etc. At one point it even had a table-based layout and javascript rollovers. The idea of a “blog” didn’t exist yet, there were just sites. Text-heavy, often brutalist-designed, sites.
A few years later I had a MySpace “blog”. Then shortly after that I transitioned to a proper blog on a Wordpress instance. These, and a few blog-esque creations in their wake, all fell by the wayside. Content is a hungry beast, as my boss used to say.
Twitter was a nice place to utter random brain-farts into the ether, for a while.
I miss that.
Sometimes thoughts rattle around in my brain for a few days, wanting to get out, but without an outlet. There are musings and reflections that I repeat on Reddit, like a broken record, because the same questions get asked, over and over (though sometimes in different ways). I once created a dumblog to act as a repository for silly images and memes that I would make and send to my friends.
I don’t think I would call this a “blog”, per se, but it’s perhaps another “blog-esque” platform.
There won’t be a comment section.
Read it, or don’t.
I just want to get the words out.
